The grown-up survey
1. Do you prefer solicitors and service staff to address you by first name or by title+last (e.g. "Ms. Smith", "Dr. Adams", etc.)?
First name if they know it. If they don't know it I prefer for them to ask. Wait staff shouldn't call me anything cos anything they attempt will be wrong for me.
2. How many careers have you had?
One. I'm guessing my time as a library tech counts as a career
3. How many jobs? How many employers?
Shitloads of both. Off the top of my head - lab tech, car detailer (multiple employers), sales person (multiple employers, multiple products), courier, self employed, Uni helpdesk.
4. What was the best employer you worked for?
Current employer - a uni.
5. What was your favorite job?
Current job. Operations manager in a Uni IT dept. enuff said.
6. How many companies, businesses or incorporated organizations have you founded?
One. Knitwear business in Christchurch NZ called Fluff 'n Stuff.
7. Did you grow up to be what you wanted to be when you were 5? When you were 10? When you were 15? When you were 20?
Can't remember what I wanted at 5. When I was 10 I think I wanted to be a vet and a girl. At 15 I simply wanted to be dead or out of the psych ward I was in - got the second wish and fortunately not the first. At twenty I was too drunk to think of a future.
8. Have you published any books or academic papers? How many?
Nope but I have had stuff published in a magazine.
9. Do you hold any patents? How many?
None.
10. Are you licensed or certified to practice a profession(s)? If so, what?
I'm a qualified Library Tech.
11. Ever served in the military? What branch and how long?
No - as far as I'm aware they don't let trannies in. :)
12. What's the largest number of employees you have ever managed at a time?
20ish.
13. How many countries have you lived in?
2. NZ and here - I even more of a wuss than Trix.
14. How many times have you been married?
Once. One time too many.
15. How many kids do you have? How many grandkids?
3 kids. 2 grandkids. I am GranBear.
16. Whom do you observe Thanksgiving with?
Don't celebrate that here.
17. How many parents have you had?
I guess 6. Two biological, two foster and two adoptive.
18. How many of your parents are still alive? How close are/were you to them?
None that I am aware of. At various times of my life I have been close and not close to my adoptive parents.
19. What's one way you were surprised to find out you turned out like one of your parents?
Some of the values I have inherited.
20. What's one way you expected to turn out like your parent(s) and were surprised not to?
I fully expected to stay working class all my life. I seem to have moved up the class system a bit in the last few years.

Nope. 12 years

No. I have done Jury duty but didn't get selected for a jury.

I was vice president of the Meridian club. Does that count?

Nope.

Rubicon in Griffith ACT.

Our new King size bed.

My grill. I can cook all sorts of yummy things on my grill.
29. Do you have a preferred airline? How many frequent flyer miles do you have?
Probably Air NZ. but only flying to and from NZ.
30. Where do you like to go to vacation?
I would love to go to NZ but can't work out how to take the hounds. Failing that Narooma.

Jeans
32. Men: Do you currently have facial hair?
No I shave every day.

Yup. And am very proud of it.
